On the 20th January I begin the journey back to
Musoma, Tanzania to spend a year working with Rehema as workshop manager!
Rehema aims to restore hope and dignity to women who are struggling and living
in desperate situations. Many women are, for many reasons, raising their
children alone either because they have no husband or they do have a husband
but he cannot or does not provide for them. A main concern is for the women who
have no education or training and without help they will be unable to provide
for their family except by putting themselves into compromising situations such
as stealing or prostitution. Rehema can provide these women with the skills
that will enable them to provide for their family in an honest and safe way but
also to give them back their dignity. I will be working with these women to
help them develop their skills and designing products that need different
levels of skill so that there is something that everyone can achieve. Rehema does such amazing work,
some of it is still unknown to me and I can’t wait to discover all that they do
and to become a part of it. More information about Rehema will be on here at
some point but if you are interested to know more now, check out Rehema Cafe on
facebook and see some of the products they have made.
I will be living in a house on the missionary compound in Musoma.
There are about 6 houses on the compound and it is opposite to Eagle lodge
where I lived on my Go MAD trips.
